Pre-school, primary and higher education staff met at Glasgow Hilton in June for an Early Years Good Practice conference: 'The Early Years Framework: Putting the Vision into Action'.
The joint HMIE/LTS Good Practice conference provided a useful opportunity to share examples of good practice in relation to the Early Years Framework within the context of Curriculum for Excellence.
Adam Ingram, the Minister for Children and Early Years, promoted the link between a highly-qualified early years workforce and the level of early years education offered in Scotland. Meanwhile, keynote speaker, Detective Chief Superintendent John Carnochan, Head of the Violence Reduction Unit, Scotland explained how the Unit's maxim is that 'violence is preventable – not inevitable'.
The conference helped to put the early years vision into action via group discussions, the promotion of resources, and further exchange of ideas following the event on Glow and the Good Practice website.
